Changes Coming!!

I'm so excited about this new diet that I'm going to start as soon as I get it in the mail..  It's called the 21 Day Fix.  I ran into a lady at Walgreens and we started chatting and she told me all about it.  She was doing great on it.  She really liked it because it helps you with portion control.   Fill the containers with the designated food for that color---and your done..   Simple as that..  Now as I said, I haven't received mine yet--so I can't tell you much more than that for now.   But I'm so excited for it to come..


Now another part of this diet is a product called Shakeology.   I'm REALLY excited about it as well.  I love protein shakes and protein bars so this will work well for me.  There are a lot of recipes on Pinterest for it as well.  I like "drinking" my breakfast, so this works out great for me..

The exercise program is 30 minutes a day.  I can carve out thirty minutes---I'm GOING to carve out thirty minutes a day is more like it.  I'm investing in this program and my health.   I've been way to lax this year and my health has paid the price.   I have type two diabetes and it's controlled by my weight.  And let just say, my numbers aren't that good right now.  So to get everything in check, it's time to lose the weight!!

39 Days til Glow in the Park

Well my visions of having a fun little group have died off.  I do believe it will be just me going and you know what---I'm fine with that.   I have never in my life had a problem talking to a stranger, and I seriously doubt things will change anytime soon.  I'm doing this for myself, getting healthier and happier with the "divorced" me...  I had no problems hopping on a plane to Montana by myself ----so running in the dark while someone throws paint on me surely can't be all that stressful.  39 days---I can do this...

That being said, I really need to step up my game.  I know there is no way I can run the entire thing.  It will be more like my C25K training.  Some running, some jogging and more walking.  I really wish Mya could do it with me.   She makes me walk faster.  And when we are running, she will look back at me and I swear she is telling me "just a little further, than you can stop."   Since it's so hot for her, I'm only going to walk her once with me and then use my "walking music" for my second walk. 

I also think it will help me to vary where I'm walking.  I love love love walking the Hillsboro Trail beside my house---it's almost totally shaded.  But has very little, if any, hills--they are short, small ones.  So I think this afternoon I'm going to walk one of the connecting road by my house.  Hills are steaper and it will be a change.  Just hate that cars are going to be passing me thinking I'm on death's door!  Cause I poor sweat like a crazy person!  Must wear a damn good sports bra!!  Lol.  Along with my hat and shades!

TGIF!!! Weekend Fun....

Finally day three of work and it's Friday!!!  So ready for my weekend...  Not much planned, but several good movies with some of my favorite actors are coming out this month.  May just have to take in a movie Sunday..  I have always loved Owen and Vince and am so glad to see them together again.  Will be hilarious!!!  Check out the trailer below....

Mya has her second Nosework class tomorrow.  Mac and I are always looking forward to that..  I plan to get up tomorrow morning and take her for a brisk walk/jog so she will not be so hyper and will be more focused.  It's also good if she doesn't eat breakfast.  She tends to search better knowing the reward is treats.  


I'm sure the weekend will blaze by.  House work is also a HUGE must..  Oh and nails---they are looking ghetto long!!  I would love to say some pool time is also planned, but I'm beginning to think I should just grab some tanning bed time.  I can't stand going to the pool when it's partially cloudy out.  Waste to drag everything out and barely get any sun!  In my opinion...

Working on a Plan.....

Since I decided it's time for the scale to start moving again,  I also decided to take a look at my workouts.  I'm not sure if I'm getting into my target heart rate range.  So, thanks to my wonderful eBay, I got a Polar FT4 watch to help me with getting in my range!!  I'm really excited to use it.  But I'm thinking it won't be until Friday.  I'm just too exshausted to get up before work right now.  If I ever sign up to work three twelves, off one day, then do three twelves again---would someone please slap the s!*t out of me!!  I look like something from the walking dead people. 
So my plan is to sleep in Friday, then go on a nice long walk/run with Mya--cause I miss my baby--and give my Polar FT4 a good workout.  Then we are going to come back and sit in the SUN!!  I bought her a plastic pool so I'm excited to see how she does with it... 
On another note...

In reading all this wonderful blogs, I came across the "100 Top Weight Loss Blogger's List for 2013"---can we say AWESOME!!  Now some of them I already follow and look to daily for inspiration and motivation, however, there are some new ones I think I may add to my list.  I'm telling ya'll, reading these blogs lets you know you are not alone in your weight loss struggles.  Plus, it's nice to read how someone had a great week and then stepped on the scale and their hard work paid off.  Motivation I tell ya!  For some of us, weight loss and dieting are for life---and it's nice to know you are not alone...

Let's Do This!!!



Here we go again, three more twelve hour shifts and then this chic is off for five whole days!!  My first summer stretch!  So excited!  I'm going to go get Mya a plastic pool so she can enjoy the backyard a little better since it is going to heat up quick here in Alabama.  Plus, I sometimes like just laying in my back yard enjoying my windchimes and the sun.  No need to go anywhere.  But first, gotta get through these next three shifts!

I haven't talked much about the weight loss lately because I've basically just maintained where I'm at.  Which is good, but I'm ready to move on from that number now.  So Friday starts a whole new plan.  Which no longer will include the red juice of the gods (crazy to start that on a Friday isn't it?).  I have exactly 171 days until my Run or Dye 5k so still a good ways away, but I think I would like to do one before that just to see how I do.  Sorta break the ice kind of thing. 

With all the wonderful blogs I've found about weight loss and working out and how motivated each and everyone of them are---it's time for me to be that person as well.  I was earlier this year for the first 18 pounds, then I got comfortable for a bit and slacked off.  No more slacking.  I'm going to put together a workout plan for each day or something to that effect.  Outside of the wine, food wise, I'm doing good still.  The best thing that helps me in that area is that I just don't buy the "junk" anymore.  And if it is not in the house, then I can't eat it.  Plus, I love grilling out in the summer time---which makes for a lot of healthy meals.  So, it just comes down to me getting off my "assets" and working out. 

That being said, bare with me on the motivational quotes and what not---things like that DO work for me so I may try and post one with each post.  To find that "special" one, I have to read several pages worth--by then, the motivation has kicked in!!  I'm not going to give myself a double digit number of pounds to lose, but take it in 5 pound increments.  5 sounds very do-able.  Not overwelming.  Wish me luck!

So, here we go---lets get these work days done and start enjoying the summer!

TGIF!!!! I'm Back!!


I know alot of my friends are so excited to have a long Memorial Day weekend..  I'm working through it, but it is all good.  I love my weekends...  But I did hear that we are going to have beautiful weather and that is great for all those that are off...

Sorry I have been away for a little while.  Had to get Mac through his finals and all things school related.  Gotta stay on top of those grades!  But my baby pulled out all A's and B's so I am one PROUD momma!!!
Just can't believe he is going to be a junior in high school next year!  Just crazy!

I work pretty heavy until next Thursday, then I'm going to enjoy some pool time and some serious workout time.  I've neglected my workouts, for various reasons and have GOT to get back in the groove.  It's bathing suit time for God's sake!!!  So send me those screaming "Get off your ass email's because your health is far more important than drama"  messages...  I promise to listen to them!!

Well I guess I better get back to the work thing.  Everyone be safe this weekend and have a blast!!!

What I'm Reading...

I hope everyone is having a great weekend.  Just thought I would toss out this book that I found on Amazon. I had to actually buy the real book---its not available via iPad or Kindle!!  Feels so weird to actually hold a book!!  Any who--it's about this man and his desire to run.  He was in no condition to run, health wise  but slowly all that changed.  Now he runs marathons and loves the sport so much.  I'm finding it very helpful and a very easy read.

Better review when I finish...  It's called The Courage To Start:  A Guide To Running for Your Life

Friday Sweet Friday!!

Can I get a "holla" that this week is almost over!!  I'm just worn out.   Four twelve hour shifts last week and this week---PLUS baseball and everything else that life entails...  I'm ready for some downtime!  I hope the sun makes it's way out and drys everything up from last nights rain.  Was planning on some yard work tomorrow as my exercise.  Still going to get in a couple of miles with Mya. 

Oh the dieting front, I'm down another pound this week.  Whoop!!!  If I would just drag my ass out of that warm bed before work, it would be more.  But if not, then there has to be ALOT of exercise on my off days!  Anybody else struggling with those "before work" workouts??

"To Do" on Vacation.....

In less than 3 hours, I will be on VACATION!!!  So excited and ready for a much needed break.  Although the sad thing is, I have a massive "To Do" list..   Now don't get me wrong, I'm going to enjoy the fact that I don't have to get up to take Mac to school or me to work..  So catching up on some much needed "natural alarm clock" days will for sure be happening.   I figure if I put everything out in the blogger-nation, then I have to complete it... Right?? 

So, here is my list..

1.  Take Mya to vet for follow up to surgery.
2.  GROCERIES---big MUST and soon.
3.  Nails---they are starting to look a little, well we won't say... (I'm thinking Saturday)
4.  Start, again, Couch to 5k--TOMORROW
5.  Take Mac to movie
6.  GET TAGS RENEWED!!!
7.  Major training with Mya
8.  New lotto ticket (can't win if you don't play)!!
9.  Finally attend a Weight Watchers meeting---been way too long!  Have to get scale moving again!!
10. Spring Cleaning!!  And that means even the baseboards!!
11. BLOG daily so I'm accountable for all of this.
12. Take mom to lunch--been too long for that as well!!
13. READ all the health magazines I have bought over the past month!!
14. Meet my FitBit goals!!
15. Track EVERYTHING in My Fitness Pal!!!!

Ok, I'm stopping at Fifteen.  I'm starting to feel overwelmed!!  No, I'm kidding, I can do this.  Cut offf date is March 22.  Do-able....
